1. Acceptance
By creating a Coacha account or using the Coacha app or website, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, don't use the service. These Terms are between you and Coacha LLC, a California limited liability company ("Coacha", "we", "us").
2. The service
Coacha is an AI-assisted personal-training app for iOS, with a companion website. The coach is powered by large language models (currently Claude, from Anthropic) and reads training data from services you choose to connect — Apple Health, Hevy, Google Calendar — to plan workouts, summarize activities, and answer questions.
The service is provided as-is. We may add, change, or remove features. We'll try not to break things you depend on without notice, but we don't promise specific features will stay available indefinitely.
3. Your account
You need an account to use Coacha. To create one, you must:
- Be at least 16 years old.
- Provide accurate information when you sign up.
- Keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for what happens under your account.
One person, one account. If we suspect an account is being shared, sold, automated, or used to abuse the service, we may suspend it.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Coacha to:
- Break the law, infringe anyone's rights, or harass anyone.
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
- Send the coach prompts that are clearly designed to bypass safety controls or get the model to produce harmful content.
- Resell, sublicense, or build a competing service on top of Coacha's API or output.
- Submit content you don't have the right to submit, or content that contains malware.
We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules. For serious or repeated violations we'll do so without notice.
5. Your content
"Your content" means the chat messages you send, the training data you connect, and anything else you upload to the service. You keep ownership of your content. By submitting it, you grant Coacha a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, and process it for the sole purpose of operating the service for you (including sending necessary context to Anthropic to generate coach responses, as described in the Privacy Policy).
You're responsible for the accuracy of training data you connect or enter manually. We don't independently verify what your wearables, apps, or messages say.
6. The coach is not a doctor
Coacha is a consumer fitness product, not a medical device. The coach can suggest workouts, training adjustments, and general recovery strategies, but it doesn't diagnose injuries, prescribe treatment, or provide medical advice. Don't use it as a substitute for a physician, physical therapist, registered dietitian, or other qualified professional.
If you experience pain, persistent injury, or any medical concern, stop training and consult a qualified professional. Fitness training carries inherent risk; by using Coacha you accept that risk.
We are not a HIPAA covered entity and Coacha is not a medical service.
7. Pricing and subscriptions
Coacha may offer paid subscriptions through Apple's App Store. If you purchase one, the following applies:
- Price and length. The subscription price and billing period are those disclosed in the app at the time of purchase, charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Auto-renewal. Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the price disclosed at sign-up (or the then-current price if disclosed to you in advance).
- Managing or cancelling. You can manage your subscription and turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → your name → Subscriptions on iOS). Deleting the app does not cancel an active subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy. We cannot process App Store refunds directly.
- Free trials. If a free trial is offered, its length is disclosed at sign-up, and any unused portion is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
Bring-your-own key (alternative)
If Coacha offers a bring-your-own-key option (e.g. routing through your own Anthropic API key), the cost of model inference is between you and Anthropic, and Coacha may charge a separate fee for the app itself. Any such pricing is disclosed in-app before you commit.
8. Third-party services
Coacha integrates with third-party services (Apple Health, Hevy, Google, Anthropic, Clerk, and others described in the Privacy Policy). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms. We're not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of third-party services. If a third party changes their API or terms, we may have to change how Coacha works.
9. Termination and account deletion
You can delete your Coacha account at any time from inside the app (Me → Settings → Account → Delete account). This terminates your access and starts the data-deletion process described in the Privacy Policy.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your use poses a security or legal risk, or if we wind down the service. We'll give reasonable notice except in cases of serious violations.
Deleting your account does not refund any unused portion of a subscription paid through Apple, since that's handled by Apple.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that AI-generated coach output will be correct, complete, or safe for your situation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coacha and its operators, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of your use of (or inability to use) the service.
Our total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid Coacha in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You'll defend, indemnify, and hold Coacha harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the service.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for disputes is the state and federal courts located in Sacramento County, California, and both parties consent to that jurisdiction, except that either party may bring a qualifying claim in small-claims court.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Coacha after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Apple App Store terms
You acknowledge that these Terms are between you and Coacha, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the service or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the service. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no warranty obligation with respect to the service. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
16. Miscellaneous
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and Coacha. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest of the Terms remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
